Weekly Announcements

If you want to stay up-to-date on what's going on at Hickory Valley Christian Church, you've come to the right page. Below is a list of upcoming events and information that is updated weekly to make sure you have accurate information. We are an active, serving, energetic church, so be ready to jump on in and be a part of all we have planned.

WHat's Going On?

Wednesday night meals and activities resume this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. This is a time of rest and unwinding. After the meal, parents can relax and enjoy a class with other adults knowing that their children are learning and having fun in a safe environment.

Sister to Sister invites all ladies to join in a night of fellowship and fun with the ladies at The Next Door of Chattanooga on Thursday, August 16, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Meet at the church at 5:30 to travel together in the church van. Please bring homemade cookies, cakes, or brownies to go along with homemade ice cream. There will be a time of jewelry making with the women.

Sister to Sister ministry is collecting items for the Community Kitchen. A complete list of needs can be found at the Information Station.

August 19th is Back to Church Sunday. We will have a festive morning for the entire family and a great day to bring a guest! This will be a casual, family oriented day, as we say farewell to summer and look forward to growing at Hickory Valley. Between the two services (9:30 - 10:45) we will meet outside on the church grounds (or in case of rain, in the gym) for a time of live music, good food, and fun games for everyone. Come, celebrate with us, and be sure to bring your friends.

Shoes for Orphan Souls collects shoes and socks for orphans and vulnerable children all over the world.  New shoes size youth 4 through adult sizes (preferably athletic or canvas) are greatly needed. We are also accepting new socks. Please spread the word and bring your donations to the designated boxes at the church by August 31.

Over the next few weeks, please be in prayer for the 7 men from HVCC who will share Christ’s love with the residents at Walker State Prison the weekend of September 20 - 23. Other ways to support the Kairos Prison Ministry are: donate $125 to cover the cost for one volunteer, donate $125 for one resident, sign up on the prayer board in the Foyer, provide homemade cookies, writing letters, make posters that express the hope found in Christ, attend the Closing Ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Check with the men at the Information Station for more information and a list of those going into the prison.
