Family discipleship

As a church we value family discipleship. Family is where discipleship happens the most and the strongest. We believe that parents are called to disciple their kids to be like Christ and to help kids know, follow, and trust God.This is a place for you to find resources to better disciple your family during the week.

Sunday's Main point and story

Main Point: We are free from sin.

Passage: Acts 9:1-31; 2 Corinthians 5:17

Story: Pauls Conversion

Saul is a devout Jewish man committed to imprisoning and even killing Christians. Then he meets Jesus, and everything changes. He realizes he was trapped in anger and sin, even when he thought he was doing the right thing. After meeting Jesus, he follows him and shares his love with everyone he can.

  • Collect some “clean” trash, like cardboard food boxes, junk mail, or easily washed plastic.
  • Get some glue, scissors, markers, and tape, and use your creativity! Make a new creation out of the trash.
  • You can work together or have each family member make their own creation.
  • Examples could include animals, purposeful inventions, picture frames, or anything else you want to make!
  • Talk about how you took trash and made it into a new creation.
  • Read 2 Corinthians 5:17, and talk about what it means to be a new creation, free from sin.
